Excellent. I just love James Rollins's books. Having spent 6 years in New Orleans growing up and another 17 years in adulthood living in the south, including Baton Rouge, so much rang true--not necessarily
in a positive way. For instance that: "If you didn't talk about it, it didn't happen."
Too true. Weird.
And the Tulane Medical Center isn't actually at the uptown campus (with which I am very familiar since my father was director of the Tulane University library from 1960-1966. The medical center is downtown. But that is a minor quibble. It was great reading about parts of the southern Louisiana I knew and parts of New Orleans itself. I practically lived at the Audubon Park Zoo when I was a kid; it was a l-o-n-g block (if one counts the Loyola campus a block :-) from our house on Freret--I spent hours climbing the live oaks and watching the animals. I loved it; the old monkey island and the newer alligator area...terrific!
