This is the most intelligent
book I have read this year. Forget the idea that is allegedly "just" a mystery. It is so very much more. It is an object lesson of the need to "let it go." IT being hatred, grief, hopelessness, guilt.
Read this, folks. Well, read the whole series, starting with Still Life. I am not certain it is critical to read from the start, but to genuinely appreciate (forgive the split infinitive!) Bury Your Dead I emphatically recommend that you read The Brutal Telling first.
Were I younger, I probably wouldn't recognize, much less acknowledge, the real importance of the message. But I really, truly, hope that younger persons understand. (Mind you, I probably wouldn't have...but I should have.)
