To One of the Characters: Oh, how could you?
I am one of those philistines who feels free, actually sometimes compelled, to see how a book ends before seriously beginning to read it.
I don't start at the end, but I browse...and the ending is always part of that browse. Having browsed The Beautiful Mystery in hardback standing up in Third Place Books, I determined that there was no way I could read it until the sequel was published. So I didn't. :-)
Have to dock one star (but it'd be only a half if available) I simply can't believe/accept the speed and depth of Beauvoir's mental tailspin (both emotional and reason-ably/logically).
